Monarch Finance Review

A household finance analyst that resumes exactly where it left off: pulls only the new transactions from Monarch Money, nets every category against credit-card statement credits, reconciles mortgage equity, checks which card benefits go unused, and updates budgets and dashboards, without ever bulk-rewriting what the owner manages by hand.

True AI automation isn’t one clever workflow. It takes 20 to 40 workflows working together to make a real impact on a business. That’s what we do: a Rolodex of 100+ automations across different CRMs and platforms, ready to be custom-built for your specific CRM and software stack.

Churning is not debt
~25 cards, all paid in full monthly via autopay. The only real cost is annual fees, and many subscriptions exist purely to capture card statement credits. Those are never “savings.”
The framework
Live off fixed income; route commission entirely to savings. The skill tracks the gap between household spend and fixed income, and the path to closing it.
The budget tab is Jordan’s
He rebuilt it himself. The skill flags drift and asks, it never bulk-rewrites budget lines.

How It Works

Net numbers, incremental pulls, careful hands

01 · Resume + Pull
Only what’s new

The session state file records the last pull date and the open watch-list, so the skill fetches only newer transactions through Monarch’s own authenticated client in the browser. Targeted questions skip pulling entirely, a full 10,000-row re-pull would eat the whole session.

02 · Analyze Net
Churning-aware analysis

With ~25 cards generating heavy statement credits, gross numbers lie. Every category nets against its credits, variable lines budget off the recent 2–3 month run-rate, business costs stay out of the household picture, and the card-benefit check surfaces the real money left on the table: unused credits, not “cuttable” subscriptions that exist to capture them.

03 · Update Carefully
Flag drift, don’t overwrite

The budget tab is owner-managed: the skill flags material drift and asks, never bulk-rewrites. Recurring streams and equity reconciliation update through Monarch’s own mutation layer, dashboards regenerate, and the session ends by rewriting the state file so the next run starts exactly here.
